Fantasy Football 2017: 10 Deep sleepers for Week 3
By Dan Thomas
Are you a fantasy football owner who’s a little desperate for Week 3? Check out these 10 deep sleepers who could still be available in your league.
There are going to be times where fantasy football teams are depleted due to injuries and/or bye weeks. Right now, there aren’t any bye weeks, so only injuries and maybe some terrible matchups are preventing owners from putting together a lineup they are confident in.
If you’re a fantasy football owner in this exact situation, don’t fret. Instead, take a look at my 10 favorite deep sleepers for Week 3. After doing that, you should at least be able to sleep a little more soundly at night.
To be eligible as a “deep sleeper” players have to be less than 50 percent owned in ESPN leagues.
10. Ben Watson, TE, Baltimore Ravens (2.8 percent owned)
Last week Watson had eight receptions for 91 yards and even though I do not expect him to catch eight passes every week, I do believe he can become a consistent volume guy.
Last year when Dennis Pitta was with the Ravens, he led all tight ends in receptions with 86. In eight different games last season Pitta had six-plus receptions. Watson is a more capable tight end than Pitta and can do more with the ball after the catch. He is a terrific flier who could turn into a top-five PPR tight end.
