Round 4: Scott Quessenberry, OG, UCLA

While there will still be some decent skill-players on the board at this point in the fourth round, I expect Atlanta to lean towards building depth on their offensive-line once more. Drafting Scott Quessenberry out of UCLA would give the Falcons their second offensive lineman of the draft and another guy who could sit and learn.

When looking for a player at this mid-way point of the NFL draft, the main thing you’re looking for is consistency and upside. At 6-3 and 310 pounds, Quessenberry started at center in all 12 games last year for the Bruins. While he has been playing at that position recently, he is versatile enough for Atlanta to move him to another spot on the line, if needed.

What’s more, Quessenberry proved to be a solid player up front when on the field. He was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team by players and coaches following the 2016 season.

Again, I’m a firm believer that football games are primarily won in the trenches, which is exactly the Falcons should keep adding to their arsenal of offensive and defensive lineman in future off-seasons.
