The Denver Broncos faced the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Sept. 24 in Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are the highlights from the game.

There’s no denying just how impressive the Denver Broncos have been to begin their 2017 season. While everyone expected their defense to be lopsidedly strong in relation to their offense, they’ve been balanced and lethal. Now 2-0, they aren’t looking to lose any time soon. To make that happen, they needed to travel to New Era Stadium and knock off the Buffalo Bills.

Early on in this matchup, it looked like we might be in store for a defensive showdown. The only scoring in the first quarter was a Denver field goal, but neither offense seemed to have much going for them. Then things started to break loose early in the second quarter.

With the Bills in the red zone, Tyrod Taylor looked for rookie wideout Zay Jones in the end zone. The rookie couldn’t haul in the grab, but he tipped it in the air. That’s when Andre Holmes made a heady play on the tip drill to come under the ball and go up 7-3. However, the Broncos answered soon after as they came up with a big Jamaal Charles rushing touchdown. Each team added a field goal before halftime to make it 13-13.

In the second half, though, it was all coming up the home team. Their defense continued to look stout as they were making Siemian look like the 2016 version of himself rather than the player he was in Weeks 1 and 2. He tossed two picks on the day, and just simply didn’t have it.

And while the Bills offense wasn’t spectacular, they were able to chip away time and again at the Broncos defense. That resulted in a touchdown in the third quarter and then two key field goals in the final period. That was enough to end Denver’s unbeaten run to start the year and give Buffalo a big win.

Based on what we’ve seen, the Broncos should have the clear advantage in this matchup with the Bills. However, a trip across the country to Buffalo can certainly make things interesting. After impressing so thoroughly in their first two wins, we’ll see if Denver can deliver on the road after a long trip.
