The Baltimore Ravens faced the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Sept. 24 in London for NFL Week 3. Here are the highlights from the game?

A tradition unlike any other, London opened its arms to the NFL once again in Week 3 for the first game in the United Kingdom in the 2017 season. Like always seems to be the case, the Jacksonville Jaguars were one of the teams heading to Wembley Stadium. In the massive venue, they readied for a matchup with the undefeated Baltimore Ravens.

In the wake of Donald Trump’s comments, the game got off to an emotional start as players and coaches from both teams knelt during the national anthem.

Once the game kicked off, the Ravens got the ball first. And almost immediately, two big questions about these teams were answered. First, it was clear that Baltimore would be hurting without offensive guard Marshal Yanda. Secondly, the Jaguars defense made sure to inform everyone that they are for real.

Jacksonville put relentless pressure on the Baltimore offense out of the gate. None of the running backs had any holes to hit and Joe Flacco was being chased around constantly. The same can’t be said for the Jaguars offense, however. Blake Bortles and the Jags came out in this game moving the ball well. They settled for a field goal on their first drive, but then got another stop and easily drove for a touchdown.

It was more of the same in the second quarter as well. The Jacksonville defensive front was a terror, as was the secondary. Flacco actually completed a pass to a Jags defender (A.J. Bouye) before he did his own team. His first completion didn’t come until well into the second quarter. Meanwhile, Bortles and Leonard Fournette stayed moving and jumped out to a 23-0 lead in the first half.

More of the same ensued in the second half. Bortles continued to dice up the Ravens defense, while the Jags flipped the script and picked off Flacco again. Jacksonville added 14 in the third quarter and another score in the fourth. Baltimore avoided the shutout with a Flacco pass to Benjamin Watson, but it was a rout in London in favor of the Jaguars.

Both of these teams showed promise in the first two weeks. However, both the Jaguars and Ravens sported warranted concerns as they made their way to London. As such, the outcome of the tilt across the pond could tell us quite a lot about both teams.
