The Pittsburgh Steelers face the Chicago Bears on Sept. 24 in Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are the highlights from the game.

The Chicago Bears played host the Pittsburgh Steelers in one of the most exciting matchups in Week 3. The Bears entered this game at 0-2, coming one play short of upsetting the defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons at home and being dominated in a 29-7 road loss to the Tampa Buccaneers. The Steelers were undefeated this season, beating the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings in their first two games of the season.

It was hard to say which version of the Bears we’d see in this game. However, it appears they just love playing at Soldier Field. They jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter with Jordan Howard punching in an early score. However, what was more impressive was how the Chicago defense handled the potent Steelers offense. They blanked them in the first quarter.

Early in the second quarter, though, it felt like Pittsburgh might normalize things — so to speak. Ben Roethlisberger lead a big drive where he fed Antonio Brown and then found his stud receiver for a score to tie it up. However, the Bears answered with a long drive of their own as Mike Glennon found rookie tight end Adam Shaheen to go up, 14-7.

Chicago could’ve been up 21-7 at the half, too. The Steelers tried to answer and got into field goal range. However, the Bears blocked the attempt and had nothing but daylight ahead for Marcus Cooper on the return. For whatever reason, though, he slowed up way too soon and was chased down, getting stripped before the goal line. Subsequently, Chicago had to settle for a field goal.

Pittsburgh came out firing in the second half. They scored on Le’Veon Bell’s first touchdown of the year in the third quarter while Chicago’s offense lost all their rhythm. The Steelers then added a field goal in the fourth quarter and had chances to pull ahead. Unfortunately, they were unable to as they were forced to head into overtime.

The Bears got the ball to start overtime and fed their two talented running backs, Howard and rookie Tarik Cohen. Cohen almost broke one for a long score on the second play, but stepped out of bounds. However, the senior back was able to clean it up with a 19-yard touchdown to seal the big upset win for Chicago.
