The five biggest fantasy football takeaways from Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season.

Week 3 of the NFL season was a lot of things but predictable was not one of them. We saw a lot of unexpected performances from teams and players both good and bad. What was the most notable takeaways for fantasy football purposes and what should we expect moving forward?

Here are the five biggest fantasy football takeaways from Week 3.

5. Unexpected Quarterbacks Go Off

Right now, Jacoby Brissett, Case Keenum and Blake Bortles are three of the top-five fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 3. Quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Jared Goff find themselves in the top-10 after the Rams and 49ers shootout on Thursday Night Football.

Does this mean all of these quarterbacks should be picked up off the waiver-wire this week? No but it does mean they are capable of moving the offense and getting the ball to their wide receivers. Owners who have guys like Stefon Diggs, Sammy Watkins and T.Y. Hilton should feel a little more confident about putting these wide receivers in their lineups from here on out.

If you’re a fan who also likes to dabble in DFS, it just goes to show building your lineup around a cheap quarterback isn’t always a bad strategy.
