New York Jets: 3 Players with rising stock after Week 3
1. Austin Seferian-Jenkins
The numbers are quite startling. You do a double take when you first glance at them. Entering this season, Jets tight ends had a grand total of 26 receptions from 2015-16. In 32 games. That is hard to believe. Well, Austin Seferian-Jenkins had almost one fifth of that total against the Dolphins and there should be much more where that came from moving forward.
The 6-6, 262-pounder was making his season debut after serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. He grabbed five receptions for 31 yards. Those are not earth-shattering numbers by any means, but he was targeted six times and participated on 48 of New York’s 63 snaps. The point is that Gang Green is looking for the tight end again. It’s about time. That philosophy has offensive coordinator John Morton’s name written all over it. Morton loves to use the tight end in his game plan.
This is a huge season for ASJ. After three very disappointing campaigns in Tampa Bay, Seferain-Jenkins rededicated himself to getting in better shape. He lost 30 pounds during the offseason and is probably in the best shape of his life. He has a lot to prove this season, but he is off to a good start.

Expect his targets to increase going forward, especially in the red zone. He has excellent hands and is an effective run blocker as well. It certainly appears that the ASJ stock is increasing in value rapidly in the tight end bull market.
