2018 NFL Draft: Denver Broncos 7-round mock draft in September
By Bruce Matson
Looking forward to next year’s NFL Draft to see what players could possibly help the Denver Broncos in the near future.
John Elway the front office figure head for the Denver Broncos or president of football operations/ general manager, if you want to go by his actual title. He is credited for turning the ship around a few years ago and directing the franchise to a victory in Super Bowl 50. He, the coaching staff, scout and many other front office executive will be making some major decisions that could impact the franchise next spring during the NFL Draft.
The Broncos made eight picks in the 2017 NFL Draft. Their goal was obvious, find talent for the offensive line and play-makers at the skilled positions. The defense is solid, but if players fell at a value, then the Broncos would shy away from drafting them.

- Round 3, Pick 101: Brendan Langley, CB Lamar
- Round 5, Pick 145: Jake Butt, TE Michigan
- Round 5, Pick 175: Isaiah McKenzie, WR Georgia
- Round 6, Pick 203: De’Angelo Henderson, RB Coastal Carolina
- Round 7, Pick 253: Chad Kelly, QB Ole MIss
For this seven round mock draft, I use Fanspeak’s mock draft simulator. My goal with this draft was to select the best talent that was presented on the board and limit reaching on players base on team need. I tried to patch up some team needs, but value eventually overcame some of the picks. Also, some of these pick might not even be realistic come next year’s draft, because of the players I drafted will experience a massive swing in value.
I drafted out of the 25th spot in the draft and I took every value that the draft presented to me whether the Broncos needed the player or not. Drafting best player available is a strategy that most teams try to use and by doing this, I will provide a scenario that could possibly happen for the Broncos in next year’s draft.
Denver is currently playing every well as they appear to be one of the better teams in the league. They have one of the toughest defenses in the NFL and they have plenty of talent at the offensive skilled positions to make them very tough to stop.
