The New York Jets take advantage of some premium picks in this 2018 NFL Mock Draft, but can they find their franchise quarterback finally?

There are a lot of holes on the New York Jets 2017 roster. They’ve tried addressing their quarterback situation in a myriad of ways and it’s led to a group consisting of Josh McCown, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg. Of the bunch, Hackenberg is the costliest as he was acquired via a 2016 second round draft pick.

In year two, he has yet to see the field in an actual NFL game — which is beyond alarming. However, anyone who watched him in the preseason probably understands why he’s still following the veteran McCown around and taking notes. Lots of notes.

The holes don’t stop there as they have issues at running back, wide receiver, tight end, offensive line and linebacker.

That’s a lot of need for one team, and one draft obviously won’t address it all. The good thing is they began to do a makeover in the secondary in 2017 with the addition of Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye to their safety group. Both players should be long-time starters and overall the defense isn’t bad — especially along the defensive line.

With this 2018 NFL Mock Draft the Jets try to continue that rebuild in an attempt to become a respectable franchise.
