The Chicago Bears faced the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Sept. 28 in Week 4 of the 2017 NFL season. Highlights and recap of the game are below

It was an NFC North clash as the Chicago Bears traveled to Wisconsin to take on their hated rivals, the Green Bay Packers. All eyes were be on these two proud franchises as Week 4 of the 2017 NFL Season kicks off on Thursday Night Football.

Chicago came into this game on the heels of an upset victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even playing on the road this week, the hope was that they would keep that momentum, anchored by a solid defensive effort. However, that wasn’t the case. Aaron Rodgers opened the game with a 10-play, 75-yard drive right down the field that culminated with a touchdown throw to Davante Adams.

Things then got worse for the Bears and much better for the Packers. Chicago quarterback Mike Glennon didn’t feel the pressure on the pass rush on the Bears first play. That allowed Clay Matthews to get to him and knock the ball loose. There were no offensive players who really had a shot at it, Green Bay ultimately recovering on the 3-yard line. Rodgers and the Packers scored easily from there.

After a few ineffective drives and another Glennon turnover, there was a weather delay with storms in the area that lasted roughly an hour.

Green Bay would score again after the break, while Glennon and the Chicago offense continued to struggle. Not even Tarik Cohen or Jordan Howard could get going. Even with injuries to both Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams, Packers rookie running back Aaron Jones came in and found paydirt. Glennon finally came up with a touchdown pass, but it was already 21-7 going into halftime.

Coming out of the locker room, it was really more of the same — so much so that things got out of hand. Adams made a catch for the Packers across the middle. As he fought for yardage, Chicago linebacker Danny Trevathan launched himself in for a nasty, dirty helmet-to-helmet hit. Adams was stretchered off the field, but was reportedly conscious and had feeling in all extremities, thankfully.

There was an odd air over the game from there, but it was all Green Bay. Jordy Nelson added two touchdowns in the second half, while Howard gave the Bears another score. In the end, though, it was a dominant Packers performance against their rivals.

The hope was that the Bears would be able to come in and pull off another upset. However, it was clear from almost kick off that wasn’t in the cards. The Packers were too much at Lambeau and put the hurting on Chicago right from the start to claim a big NFC North win.
