The Buffalo Bills played very well in their Week 4 upset of the Atlanta Falcons. Here are three concerning takeaways for the Dirty Birds.

The Buffalo Bills came into week four to face the Atlanta Falcons and played one heck of a football game. While most people around the NFL expected the Falcons to run away with this game, it was the Bills who ultimately were the better football team on Sunday afternoon. Needless to say, no one expected Buffalo to be leading the AFC East heading into Week 5.

I don’t know whether Atlanta was looking ahead towards their bye week, but they weren’t ready to play on Sunday. Not only did they squander numerous opportunities to seal the game early, but they gave Buffalo every opportunity to be successful with turnovers and mental mistakes.

For most Falcons fans, this is the first loss since they beloved Dirty Birds blew a 25-point lead in Super Bowl 51. Just like the game against New England, many fans will be wondering why their coaching staff didn’t stay committed to running the football in crucial moments of the game.

Yes, Devonta Freeman made a terrible play late in the fourth quarter and Tevin Coleman almost lost a key fumble, but not putting the football in their hands, especially with the game of the line, it besides me.

There are two times that losses hurt more than others — in the playoffs and the week before a team’s bye. That said, the Falcons now have two week to think about this tough loss against a team they should’ve beaten.
