The Atlanta Falcons faced the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, October 1st in NFL Week 4, and here are the highlights from the game.

The Buffalo Bills are heading down south to put their 2-1 record on the line Sunday afternoon against the reigning NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. These two teams last met up in 2013, when things looked much different for both of these franchises. Needless to say, there would be better quality football played between the two teams this Sunday.

For anyone questioning whether or not the Bills were for real, they came out on Sunday ready to make a statement. They blanked the Falcons in the first quarter. Unfortunately Tyrod Taylor and the offense were unable to get anything going either. That all changed after they conceded a field goal in the second period, though. Taylor made a beautiful throw to Jordan Matthews in the end zone while in the red zone to go up 7-3. Their defense couldn’t hold just before the half as Atlanta took the lead back, but Buffalo wasn’t done fighting.

Incredibly, their defense again blanked the Falcons in a quarter, holding them scoreless in the third quarter as well. The defense came up even bigger when Jerry Hughes sacked Matt Ryan and caused a fumble. Rookie Tre’Davious White scooped it up and took it to the house for a score and 14-10 lead.

Things then heated up in the fourth quarter. Buffalo first pushed their lead to 17-10 with a field goal, but Ryan answered with a toss to Justin Hardy in the end zone. Ever resilient, Taylor and LeSean McCoy put together a drive and put another field goal on the board.

That’s when the Bills defense again stepped up to make a massive play. The Falcons were trying to answer with their high-powered offense, but were unable to. Micah Hyde picked off Ryan with under four minutes left to really put Buffalo in control. They went and kicked another field goal on that drive, then forced a turnover on downs to seal the huge win.

Next: One burning question for each team in Week 4

Whoever wins this game on Sunday afternoon will be in great position heading into the fifth week of the NFL regular season. While it would be nice for the Falcons to stay undefeated heading into their bye-week, a win for the Bills would surely send shock waves through the NFL and AFC East.
