TE Strategy Talk

Tight end continues to be a struggle for fantasy owners across the globe. Consistency has been hard to find aside from less than a handful of guys. Unfortunately, you’ll have to pay up to get “sure” production from the likes of Ertz, Kelce, or Walker. Clay and Engram have also been pretty consistent but face difficult matchups in Week 5. My suggestion is to try and go for a top-level tight end. If you are unable to, I would then look to ignore the matchup and go with the next tier of heavily targeted players such as the aforementioned Charles Clay or Evan Engram.

Seferian-Jenkins is up against the Browns, who are currently the second worst defense versus opposing tight ends, allowing 19.8 points per game. He’s worth a look at $5,500, even though I wouldn’t call him a great value.

If you are looking for boom or bust, look no further than Hunter Henry at $5,200. The second-year tight end is capable of some big games, but has been curiously playing behind Antonio Gates. The Giants haven’t been able to slow down tight ends at all this season, allowing a league-high five touchdowns in just four games.
