The Carolina Panthers faces the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday, Oct. 8 in Week 5 of the 2017 NFL season. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions prepare to take the field in Week 5 for a massive NFC showdown from Ford Field. All-in-all, this should be a terrific game. The two teams excel and lack some of the same things, which will make it that more interesting,

The Lions defense has surprised everyone this season. They lead the league in turnover differential with only two giveaways and 11 takeaways. They also rank seventh in stuffing the run.

On the offensive side, Matthew Stafford hasn’t thrown an interception since hisopening driving in Week 1. However, last week, his offensive linemen left him vulnerable, and he was sacked six times. They will need to step it up if they want to defeat the fourth ranked defense.

Cam Newton has only attempted five carries so far this season. Newton usually gets run happy, but will he be able to take on a stout run defense? If not, there’s always the pass option. The Panthers receivers could also have an opportunity for big plays. When the Lions were forced to stack the box, they allowed at least 20 yards per play.

Both teams have good and bad qualities. Oddly enough, they may end up cancelling each other out. Don’t miss this week’s cat fight.
