The Los Angeles Chargers picked up their 1st win of 2017 on Sunday afternoon. However, can they get back to .500 before their bye-week in Week 9?

Well, it finally happened on Sunday afternoon — the Los Angeles Chargers finally won their first game of the 2017 NFL season against the New York Giants. While it wasn’t the prettiest win I’ve ever seen, I was impressed with how this football team overcame adversity and closed out the game on a high-note.

Now with their first win of 2017 under their belts, can the Bolts win three-straight games, heading into their bye week? If they can do exactly that, this football team will be sitting at (4-4) with half a season left to go.

Needless to say, it’ll be a tall-task for this Los Angeles football team, but it’s definitely attainable. Take a look at the Chargers next three opponents below:

  • Week 6: at Oakland Raiders
  • Week 7: vs. Denver Broncos
  • Week 8: at New England Patriots

More from Los Angeles Chargers

Heading into Week 6, the Chargers will definitely have a shot against the Derek Carr-less Oakland Raiders. It was pretty clear in Week 5 that E.J. Manuel isn’t ready to put this team on his shoulders, which is definitely a problem for a team looking to make the playoffs in 2017. If Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram can get pressure on him early in the game, Los Angeles could gain some major momentum heading into their Week 7 game against Denver.

At home game against the Broncos could be exactly what the doctor ordered for a team looking to turn their season around. Denver narrowly escaped their Week 1 matchup against the Chargers thanks to a blocked field goal in the closing seconds, but things might not go their way this time around. After a few, two-straight convincing wins for Los Angeles, don’t be surprised if they even up their season-series with the Broncos in Week 7.

With one more game before they’re much-deserved week off in Week 9, the Chargers will have to travel back to the east coast to face the New England Patriots. If you didn’t know already, this is easily their toughest game of the next three weeks.

That being said, this isn’t the same Patriots defense that won the Super Bowl last February, as they are one of the NFL’s worst defense in 2017. While a huge game from Tom Brady is more than probable against the Bolts, a huge game from Melvin Gordon would keep the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback off the field and could lead to an upset victory.

What say you Chargers fans? Will the Bolts find a way to even up their record at 4-4 by Week 9?
