NFL 2017: Who plays on Monday Night Football in Week 6?

Which two teams will cap off Week 6 of the 2017 NFL season by taking the field in primetime on Monday Night Football?

Monday Night Football this week will feature an AFC South matchup between the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts and Titans enter this game in a three-way tie for second place in the division alongside the Houston Texans.

The Titans have lost their last two games after starting the season 2-1 and likely will be without quarterback Marcus Mariota for the second consecutive week. The Colts will continue to roll with Jacoby Brissett under center until Andrew Luck is healthy enough to return. In Week 5, Brissett was able to lead the Colts to a 26-23 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Tennessee’s defense will be especially frustrated after their Week 5 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins were held to under 180 total yards, including only 78 passing yards, and still beat Tennessee 16-10.

Seven of Miami’s points came off of a fumble by backup quarterback Matt Cassell. Even without Mariota, the Titans are going to need to find a way to score more than ten points and hope their defense will be able to carry them the rest of the way. More importantly, the Titans need to focus on ball security, as they might have still won without the two fumbles they lost.

Indianapolis’ defense should attempt to apply pressure to Cassell in this game. Indianapolis currently rank 26th in the league in sack percentage. However, they will be facing a Titans offensive line that allowed six sacks in Week 5.

Cassell is much easier to bring down than Mariota due to the loss of speed and explosiveness, and it showed on Sunday. Miami’s defense is nothing special so if they can attack the quarterback and score defensive touchdowns, the Colts might be able to as well.
