Taking a look at which teams will be featured to end a weekend of NFL action on Sunday Night Football in Week 6 of the 2017 season.
Sunday Night Football in Week 6 will feature a primetime matchup between the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants. The Broncos will be looking to stay undefeated at home this season, where they are already 3-0, as they come off their bye. The Giants are still searching for their first win of the season after blowing their third consecutive fourth-quarter lead in their 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
As if their fifth loss of the season was not painful enough, the Giants also lost their top three receivers to injury in Sunday’s game. Most notably, star receiver Odell Beckham Jr injured his ankle in the final minutes of the game on Sunday and is expected to undergo season-ending surgery. Receivers Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall also suffered ankle injuries and are expected to miss at least a week. Fourth-string wide receiver Dwayne Harris suffered a foot injury and was ruled out of the rest of Sunday’s game and should be done for the season.
With all the injuries the Giants have faced at the wide receiver position, Roger Lewis will be the only receiver who has caught a pass playing for the Giants on Sunday. Leis has caught a total of seven passes this year, including a 29-yard touchdown against the Chargers.

The Giants would have been in for a tough game even with all of their weapons at full health. The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the entire league, led by Von Miller. They also have the best cornerback duo in the NFL in Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr. Denver enters this game with the number one ranked defense in yards allowed and rushing yards allowed, as well as the tenth ranked defense in passing yards allowed. With the injuries piling up, it certainly appears that the Giants will have to wait at least one more week before getting that first win.
