The New York Giants appear to be fading fast, making the Denver Broncos heavy favorites to blow them out in primetime in Week 6

The Denver Broncos will be hosting the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football in Week 6, and are looking to advance to their record to 4-1. They have to do so to keep pace in the AFC West as the Kansas City Chiefs sit at 5-0 and haven’t showed any signs of slowing down. The good news is, they are fresh and ready to go after last week’s bye.

The Giants are a different story.

They haven’t won a game yet this season and appear to be crumbling right before our eyes. Their roster is starting to get depleted due to accumulating a large amount of injuries. Roger Lewis is currently their only healthy wide receiver from last week.

Apparently, there has been a lot of drama behind the scenes with the Giants, because according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, star cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie left Wednesday’s practice and will be suspended by the team. With him being out of the lineup on Sunday, there will be a hole that will need filled for the Giants at their nickel cornerback spot.

Giants safety Landon Collins is also banged up and will be playing through an ankle injury against the Broncos. With the recent news concerning the Giants defensive backfield, there’s a good chance that the Broncos will get the opportunity to take advantage of a weakened secondary.

More from Denver Broncos

Denver currently has the top defense in the league, ranking first against the run, allowing just 50.8 yards per game. The Giants ultimately rank 30th in the league in rushing with 77.8 yards per game while averaging just 3.9 yards per carry. This appears to be a favorable matchup for the Broncos defense.

New York’s offense is also in shambles. Eli Manning has already been sacked 13 times this year and the offensive line appears to be as strong as a wet paper bag when it comes to protecting the quarterback. Von Miller, Denver’s stud pass rusher, should feast in this game.

The only bright spot for the Giants is rookie tight end Evan Engram who has caught 19 passes for 200 yards and one touchdown this season. The team drafted him in the first round this year with the 23rd pick in the draft. He will be one of the team’s focal points in the passing game going forward.

Denver will play three tough opponents on the road after this game, so it’s very important that they come away with an impressive victory on Sunday night. This should be a solid tune-up game for the rest of the season and hopefully will build up some momentum for them work off of going forward.

If anything, Denver needs to take advantage of this opportunity to build confidence throughout the entire organization by not taking the Giants lightly and leaving Sports Authority Field with an impressive victory. This is also a good time to iron out any kinks within the offense.

Going into the season, this game appeared to be one of Denver’s toughest matchups. But now it looks like the Broncos might easily get their fourth win of the season as long as they don’t take their opponent lightly. Look for the Orange Crush to win big by at least three touchdowns in this game.
