In Week 6 action, the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Washington Redskins. The 49ers are still searching for their first win of the season as they were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts by a 26-23 score.
There were some positives to take away from the game for the 49ers and quarterback Brian Hoyer was one of them. He went 29-of-46 through the air, throwing for 353 yards and two touchdowns. Marquise Goodwin played a big role in the offensive production, catching five passes for 116 yards, with a 51-yard snag being his longest of the day. Pierre Garcon did his part as well, catching eight passes for 94 yards, but it was still not enough.
For the Redskins, their last game came on Monday, Oct. 2. Facing Alex Smith and the Chiefs, they gave it their best effort, but were simply overmatched, losing by a 29-20 score. Kirk Cousins had an efficient day, going 14-of-24 through the air, throwing for 220 yards and two touchdowns. Vernon Davis and Terrelle Pryor did their part as well, forming a productive combination.
Davis caught two passes for 89 yards, while Pryor caught three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. Pryor continues to show that he is one of the top deep threats in the league. The 49ers come into this game with a 0-5 record while the Redskins sit at 2-2 on the year.
