The Chicago Bears faced the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 15 in Week 6 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are the highlights from the game.

No one would say that the Baltimore Ravens looked elite through the first five weeks of the season. Especially since the loss of Marshal Yanda on the offensive line, things have gone poorly. However, things haven’t gone as poorly for them as it has for the Chicago Bears as a whole. With that said, the latter traveled to Baltimore in Week 6 with optimism.

If you only tuned in for the first quarter, you might’ve expected this matchup between the Bears and Ravens to be a bit of a snooze-fest. The game opened with five consecutive punts, three for Baltimore and two for Chicago. However, the Bears finally got on the board with a field goal after a 10-play, 60-yard drive.

It then looked like the visiting Bears might have a big opportunity early on. They forced a fumble as Baltimore was driving and recovered at their own 20-yard line. However, they couldn’t convert and went three-and-out. Yet, the defense came up huge as they picked off Joe Flacco, setting up great field position. That set up a nifty trick play with rookie running back Tarik Cohen taking a pitch and then throwing a touchdown pass to Zach Miller. Two more three-and-outs and then a Ravens field goal took things into halftime. The madness was just beginning, though.

Chicago was the first to score in the second half as Trubisky got on the board with a 27-yard toss to Dion Sims. However, the Ravens immediately flipped momentum as Bobby Rainey went down on the ensuing kickoff, but was forced down by his own teammate. Staying aware, he popped up and went 96 yards for the touchdown to make it 17-10.

After trading three-and-outs, Cohen coughed up the football and gave the Ravens a great opportunity. They couldn’t find the end zone, but did convert a field goal to pull closer. Things looked even worse as Trubisky was stripped on a sack by Lardarius Webb, which the Ravens recovered, But that’s when Bears safety Adrian Amos came up hige. He picked off Flacco and then put toegether a beautiful return for a touchdown, making it 24-13.

Baltimore drove quickly with the ball back and earned three points from Justin Tucker. However, they got a huge boost late after the defense came up with a stop. Michael Campanaro fielded the ensuing punt and took off down the left sideline and went all the way to the end zone. Flacco then found Nick Boyle for the two-point conversion to tie it up. Chicago had nothing else in regulation, pushing things to overtime.

The Bears got the ball to start overtime, but couldn’t do anything with it. Even after a bad punt, though, Chicago’s defense stepped up to force a three-and-out. When they got the ball back, they finally got to work. Jordan Howard, who was great on the day, broke through for a huge gain. After Trubisky then found Kendall Wright with a clutch throw, that set up the game-winning field goal, which Connor Barth nailed to give the Bears the upset win over the Ravens.

The Bears undoubtedly have plenty of hope about their future. However, the immediate prospects are much less promising. As Trubisky plays only his second game against the vaunted Ravens defense, it could be a long day.
