Fantasy Football 2017: 5 Biggest takeaways from Week 6
By Dan Thomas
From injuries to disappointments, taking a look at the five biggest fantasy football takeaways from Week 6 of the 2017 NFL season.
There’s only one game left to be played in Week 6 but there are so many fantasy football story lines that need to be discussed. The first one is an obvious one: another significant player goes down with a season-ending injury. Besides that, what else should owners takeaway from yesterday’s slate of games?
Here are the five biggest fantasy football takeaways from Week 6.
5. It was an Ugly Week for Quarterbacks
Did you have a fantasy football quarterback who didn’t perform to the level you were expecting this week? That’s okay because chances are a majority of owners in your league feel the same way.
As it stands right now, the top-six fantasy football quarterbacks all finished with 20+ fantasy points but after that, the drop-off is huge. The seventh-best fantasy quarterback, Tom Brady, only finished with 16.2 fantasy points and Chiefs Alex Smith closes out the top-10 with 15.1 points. To give you an idea how bad that is, here’s a list of the the 10th-best fantasy football quarterback in each of the last five weeks:
Week 5: Jacoby Brissett – 18 points
Week 4: Kirk Cousins – 20.6 points
Week 3: Dak Prescott – 22.9 points
Week 2: Alex Smith -16.1 points
Week 1: Matt Ryan – 17.9 points
The fantasy football quarterback position as a whole underperformed this week so if you feel the need to panic, don’t.
I mean, that’s unless you’re an Aaron Rodgers owner.
