NFL 2017: Who plays on Thursday Night Football in Week 7?
Week 7 of the 2017 NFL schedule has arrived, and for Thursday Night Football, that means a classic AFC West rivalry will take place in primetime.
Thursday Night Football is coming off the best game of the year for the weekly series in Week 6, but Week 7 could even top that with the Oakland Raiders hosting the Kansas City Chiefs in one of the most classic NFL rivalry games.
The Chiefs have the best record in the NFL at 5-1 but are coming off their first loss of the season, as they dropped this past Sunday’s game to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 19-13. The host Raiders had quarterback Derek Carr return this past Sunday, but they still weren’t able to gain a win either, falling to the Los Angeles Chargers in an upset at 17-16.
Coming into this game at 2-4, the Raiders really need Carr and the offense to get back to where they were last year, because they are 18th in points scored and 24th or worse in three other leading offensive categories this season.

In his return to the field on Sunday, Carr was 21-of-30 for 171 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions and was sacked once. Wide receiver Amari Cooper caught five passes for 28 yards in the loss.
Oakland’s defense isn’t where it was a year ago either with as they are 23rd in yards allowed at nearly 350 yards per game, but are just 12th in points allowed per game at 21 ppg.
The Chiefs have had an excellent start to the 2017 NFL season, excluding last Sunday. The Chiefs have found a potential star running back in Kareem Hunt, as this past Sunday he had just 21 yards rushing, but also had five receptions for 89 yards. For the season, Hunt has 630 yards on 106 carries with four touchdowns and receiving 21 receptions for 255 yards.
Kansas City also has one of the best offenses in the entire league, including being second in scoring at 29.4 ppg and second in yards per game at 387. The defense is a little different story, being ranked 29th in the NFL in yards allowed per game (378.2), including 130 yards rushing per game.
