2. The Jets will score on defense

Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler has a tendency to turn the ball over. He has 182 career turnovers (150 interceptions and 32 fumbles). In 2017, the Jets have had a knack for taking the ball away. They have seven interceptions (tied for seventh in the NFL) and two fumble recoveries, and the nine total takeaways is tied for ninth in the NFL.

More from New York Jets

This game is set up perfectly for the Jets to get multiple takeaways. It’s also set up for them to do something they have yet to do this season, score a defensive touchdown. The Jets offense hasn’t really done much with the nine turnovers they’ve been given, only scoring 24 points off the nine turnovers. So, that means the defense will have to take the scoring into their own hands.

The defense won’t have to score for the Jets to win this game, because the Jets are the better team, but the defense probably wants to do everything they can to help this young offense. Scoring will definitely do that. It will also show future opponents not to take them lightly. It’s time for the defense to get in the mix, and what better time than against a division rival.
