The New York Jets have been one of the surprise teams in the NFL this season with their 3-3 record. Here are three Jets players with rising stock after Week 6

It’s been quite a season so far for the New York Jets. It really has. Despite their frustrating 24-17 loss to the New England Patriots, no one expected Gang Green to have a 3-3 record at this point of the season. Despite being in last place in the AFC East, New York still has a viable chance to stay in the playoff race despite having a pretty brutal schedule moving forward.

The Jets are playing with heart, grit and determination. Now they have to learn how not to blow 14-point leads and finish out games. While their pass rush is in dire shape, there continues to be very positive signs emanating from Todd Bowles’ squad.

Let’s take a look at three players in particular with rising stock after their Week 6 contest with the Patriots:

3. Buster Skrine

The seven-year veteran has had an up and down season so far and dropped an interception in the first half when the Jets owned a 14-point lead. However, Skrine made up for his drop by putting together his best overall effort of the 2017 campaign.

The Tennessee-Chattanooga product recorded his first interception of the season and also his initial fumble recovery when linebacker Darron Lee knocked the ball out of the hands of halfback Mike Gillislee and Skrine bounced on the loose pigskin. That thwarted a New England drive to the Jets 22-yard line late in the first quarter.

Skrine added a pair of solo tackles and a trio of passes defensed. He entered the game with zero passes defensed. The 28-year old defensive back also helped keep Danny Amendola (three receptions for 40 yards) and Chris Hogan (1-19) in check. The Jets are going to need similar performances from Skrine moving forward if they hope to compete for a playoff spot in the highly competitive AFC.
