3. Mario Edwards Jr. vs. Eric Fisher

Mario Edwards Jr. was set up to be another piece in the Oakland pass rush behind Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin. Edwards recorded three sacks in his first four games as a Raider, whoever has not recorded a sack in either of the last two games. The Raiders have struggled to find a sustained pass rush outside of Mack and Irvin, but Edwards could fill that role if he sustains his early season pace. Edwards will be looking to get his track back on track lined up against Eric Fisher.

Fisher was selected No. 1 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Chiefs but has struggled to live up to expectations. According to Pro Football Focus Edge, Fisher ranks as the 21st ranked tackle in the league through the first six weeks of the season with an average grade of 76.6. Fisher might not live up to the hype of a No. 1 overall offensive linemen, but he is still a decent pass blocker on the Chiefs line.

Added with the fact that Alex Smith’s mobility makes him one of the harder quarterbacks in the league to sack, Edwards may find it difficult to find success pass rushing in this game. The Raiders need to get all the advantages they can in this game to avoid losing for the fifth consecutive week and pressuring Smith could be game changing.
