The New York Jets walked into Miami looking to make a statement against the Dolphins, but they walked out of Miami with a 31-28 loss.

The New York Jets walked away from their Week 7 matchup with the Miami Dolphins with a sour taste in their mouths after blowing a fourth-quarter lead of at least two touchdowns for the first time in 12 years.

For the first 45 minutes of the contest, it appeared that Gang Green was simply better than their AFC East foes this season. What’s more, it seemed like a second-straight victory for 2017 was in order. But alas, that wasn’t the case. This game proved a lot of things about this Jets team.

Ultimately, the Jets allowed the Dolphins to slip away with a win they didn’t necessarily deserve. Both teams fought hard, and the Dolphins won behind a good effort from backup quarterback Matt Moore. However, it was the Jets game to win or lose from the beginning, and it was more a function of the Jets losing than the Dolphins playing well that allowed the Dolphins to win the game.

A lot of things had to go wrong for the Jets to lose this game, and they all happened. However, before Jets fans start whining with the “same old Jets” mantra, it’s actually not the same old Jets. It’s a time to start singing a different tune about the Jets and look at the things they did right, but realize that there are three things that made it go wrong, and they’re fixable.
