There will be six teams on bye in Week 8 of the NFL season, which is both the most teams on bye so far and the first of two six-bye weeks.

As many teams prepare for Week 8 of the NFL season, six teams will have their bye. Four NFC teams and two AFC teams will be watching from home this week in the first of two weeks in which six teams are on bye. The NFC teams on bye include the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants, while the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans are the AFC teams on bye.

No team needs a bye-week more than the Giants, who fell to 1-6 on Sunday after losing 24-7 to the Seattle Seahawks at home. The Giants had just 14 first downs during the game and were outgained by Seattle 425-177 total offensive yards. With everything seemingly going wrong for New York, it wouldn’t be surprising if they use the bye week as an excuse to make some major changes in the organization.

The Cardinals and Rams are both on bye after playing in London last Sunday. Los Angeles defeated Arizona 33-0 at Twickenham Stadium. Not only were the Cardinals outgained by 172 yards on the ground and 60 yards passing but Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer left the game with a broken arm. Palmer is currently expected to be out at least eight weeks if not the entire season. Backup quarterback Drew Stanton will replace Palmer but it is good that the bye week allows Stanton to get more practice reps. Stanton is 8-5 over 13 career starts, with his last start coming in Week 3 of 2016.

The Packers could also take advantage of their bye week. Green Bay has now lost two consecutive games for the first time this season, falling to the New Orleans Saints 26-17 at home on Sunday. With Aaron Rodgers out with a broken collarbone, Brett Hundley had his first career start in last week. Hundley went 12 of 25 for just 87 yards passing, an average of just 7.25 yards per completion. Hundley also threw an interception and rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown.
