Running Backs

Start

Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Indianapolis Colts – Last week Mixon finished with a season-low seven carries but that should not stop you from starting Mixon this week. I’m guessing he’ll see 15 touches this week and he faces a Colts team has given up four rushing touchdowns over the last two weeks. That should be more than enough.

Wendell Smallwood, Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers – In his first game back from a two week absence, Smallwood didn’t provide much and finished with 5.9 fantasy points. However, he did finish with double-digit touches for the third time over his last three games. The 49ers can’t stop running backs in the run game or the passing game and Smallwood is a threat in both areas.

Matt Forte, New York Jets vs. Atlanta Falcons – He’s no longer the Matt Forte of old but he’s still got some gas left in the tank. In each of the last two weeks Forte has 13.2+ PPR points and there’s a chance this game against the Falcons turns into a high-scoring game. If that happens, Forte could finish with 5+ receptions which is something he’s done in each of the last two weeks.

Sit

C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs – In three out of his last four games, Anderson has scored 7.1 PPR points or less. His matchup against the Chiefs this week isn’t an enticing one so I can’t see Anderson doing much with his 10 or so touches.

Frank Gore, Indianapolis Colts vs. Cincinnati Bengals – Gore has less than 50 yards rushing in six out of the last seven games and even in a depleted week, I would still leave Gore on benches.
