Fantasy Football 2017: Start or sit for Week 8
By Dan Thomas
Last Week and Season-Long Record of Start/Sit
Week 7 QB Starts: Matt Ryan, Jared Goff – Ryan finished as the 13th best quarterback, with Goff just ahead at 11. However, with Goff almost getting 20 points, let’s take the point there. Result: 1/2
Week 7 QB Sits: Jameis Winston, Philip Rivers – Winston finished as a top-10 player at the position, but Rivers wasn’t even all that close to 20 points. Result: 1/2
Week 7 RB Starts: Adrian Peterson, James White – All Day did nothing all day, but a receiving touchdown saved the day for White. Result: 1/2
Week 7 RB Sits: Orleans Darkwa, Marshawn Lynch – Darkwa did next to nothing in a horrible game for the Giants and Beast Mode got ejected in the first half. Result: 2/2
Week 7 WR Starts: Robert Woods, Rishard Matthews – It was a good football day for Woods, but not so much in fantasy. Matthews was a whiff entirely. Result: 0/2
Week 7 WR Sits: T.Y. Hilton, Randall Cobb – Even in PPR and decimal scoring, neither Cobb nor Hilton managed five fantasy points last week. Nailed it. Result: 2/2
Week 7 TE Starts: Austin Hooper, Jack Doyle – Doyle was close to making some noise, but 10.4 points on a big scoring day for tight ends is a loss. Hooper had one catch on one target for six yards. Yikes. Result: 0/2
Week 7 TE Sits: Coby Fleener, Jared Cook – Fleener was a great call with only two catches for 22 yards. However, Cook was the fifth-best TE last week. Result: 1/2
Next: NFL: 5 Teams on upset alert in Week 8
Week 7 D/ST Starts: Titans, Ravens – The Titans were a great call as they were locked in a defensive battle, but the Ravens looked atrocious and got torched. Result: 1/2
Week 7 D/ST Sits: Dolphins, Eagles – Both defenses scored under 10 points and definitely didn’t win anyone their matchup. Result: 2/2
Week 7 Results: 11/20 = 55 percent
Season-long results: 83/154 = 54 percent
