It’s time for the New York Jets to welcome the Atlanta Falcons to MetLife Stadium for their Week 8 matchup.

In a rare matchup, only the sixth time the New York Jets have hosted the Atlanta Falcons and twelfth overall, the birds are flying north as the weather begins to get colder. The Falcons lead the all-time series 6-5 and are 3-2 on the road against the Jets.

Both teams are entering this game coming off losses. In fact, both team have lost to the Dolphins and Patriots in their last two games.

Early in the season, it looked like the same old Jets mantra would start. The team was “clearly” tanking, and the road to 0-16 was being paved. A funny thing happened on the road to 0-16, a three-game winning streak. Then the Jets were involved in controversy overturned touchdown, which led to a loss, and they relinquished a 14-point lead fourth quarter for the first time in 22 years.

The Jets are going to want to get back to the winning ways if they don’t want the fans screaming for a top-ten pick. Beating the Falcons in Week 8 will get the ship righted for the time being. Even though the season has been about team play, rather than one player stepping up, some players will have to make their marks in this game for the Jets to reverse the results of the last two weeks.
