The Atlanta Falcons came away with a huge victory over the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. Here are three takeaways from the game.

What a Sunday afternoon it was for fans of the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets, as their match-up came down to the wire in Week 8. What seemed like a game that the Dirty Birds should win easily, turned into a tough, grind-it-out victory in a downpour in MetLife Stadium. Nonetheless, it was a very entertaining football game.

For Atlanta, this victory in New Jersey was one that they absolutely needed to have, especially after losing three-straight game coming into the weekend. If the Falcons wanted a shot at winning the NFC South back-to-back seasons for the first time in franchise history, they needed to come out out New York with a win.

That said, the entire Falcons roster showed great resolve and grit on Sunday afternoon, as they beat the Jets 25-20 in a nail-biter.

Now Atlanta sits at 4-3, heading into their first division game of the 2017 season against the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. The good news, is that the Falcons won’t face a brutal defensive-line like they saw in New York, but they will be going up against the 2015 NFL  MVP, Cam Newton.

Needless to say, Falcons players and fans need to enjoy this solid win over the Jets in Week 8. Here are three encouraging takeaways from the game.
