Dallas Cowboys: 3 Takeaways vs. Redskins in Week 8
By Randy Gurzi
The Dallas Cowboys were able to get a road win over one of their bigger rivals, the Washington Redskins in Week 8, here are three takeaways from the victory
After falling to 2-3 thanks to a two-game slide at home, the Dallas Cowboys seem to have gotten some things back on track. They easily defeated the winless San Francisco 49ers on the road in Week 7, and then went to the Nation’s Capital for Week 8 to face the Washington Redskins.
As the start time approached it became apparent that things would be ugly in this one as the weather took a turn. The rain poured and became a problem for both teams right from the start. For Dallas, they saw the ball hit the turf on their first play from scrimmage.
Star running back Ezekiel Elliott fumbled the ball, and Washington recovered. They took a 3-0 lead, but then they too started to see some ill effects from the slipper conditions. Washington finished with three fumbles, but what affected them more were some bad snaps — including some on the kick attempts, including when they missed an extra point late.
In the end, Dallas was able to make enough of the plays count, and their strong running game made the difference in this nasty-weathered game. There were several things to take from the win, but here we narrow it down to three things.
