Dallas Cowboys: 3 Takeaways vs. Redskins in Week 8
By Randy Gurzi
2. Elliott will be sorely missed if he’s gone for six games
The day after their big win, the Cowboys will be hoping for yet another big win. The team is playing on borrowed time now with running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is appealing a six-game suspension. Currently a court order is keeping him on the field, but on Oct. 30, there will be another ruling that can decide what will happen — for this year at least.

It’s hard to guess what the results will be, but much of the feeling is the league will eventually prevail and suspend Zeke. For some reason, the players allowed commissioner Roger Goodell extreme power in suspending players, and the burden of proof on his part is almost non-existent. That leads to the feeling that like Tom Brady, quarterback of the New England Patriots, Elliott too will sit for six games.
That can be pushed off until next year, which obviously helps them now because without Elliott, they may be in real trouble. Despite having some great players like quarterback Dak Prescott, they may not have won this game without the tough running provided by their second-year back.
Prescott managed just 143 yards passing in the rain, but Elliot had 150 yards on the ground. He also helped grind the clock down in the fourth quarter as they put their rival away for good.
