1. They can’t run with anyone

The talk leading into this one centered around who would be missing from their running game. Veteran running back Marshawn Lynch was suspended for one game after foolishly running onto the field to get into a pile where his team and the Chiefs were mixing it up. He was on the sidelines and decided it would not only be wise to get involved, but also that pushing a ref would be cool too. It wasn’t, and he was kicked out and suspended.

Without him, they got an early one-yard touchdown from fullback Jamize Olawale. That was about the only highlight reel for them in that regard as they put up just 54 yards on the day, which is nothing to pump your fists over.

It’s a shame for them as they’ve been unable to lean on the run at all with Carr trying to get back to form following the injury. Oakland may have put too many eggs in their Lynch-basket as the 31-year old wasn’t doing any better even when he wasn’t acting up and getting suspended.

Whether it’s the offensive line, the backs, or the game plan, the fact is that Oakland can’t get it going consistently on the ground. That’s the biggest reason to worry about them turning things around in the second half.
