The Seattle Seahawks face the Houston Texans on Sunday, Oct. 29 in Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season. Here’s all the info you need to watch the game.
Fresh off a 24-7 victory over the New York Giants, the Seattle Seahawks appear to be finding their groove. Quarterback Russell Wilson delivered an incredible performance last week, completing passes to 11 different receivers for 334 yards, three second half touchdowns, and no interceptions, while adding 10 rushing yards on a pair of scrambles.
Number one wide receiver Doug Baldwin produced his best game of the season, snaring nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks’ defense also looked dominant, holding the Giants’ offense to a mere 177 yards of total offense. After stumbling out the blocks in the early going, the ‘Hawks once again look like Super Bowl contenders.
However, they are about to be tested in a big way.
Coming off a bye, the 3-3 Houston Texans are traveling to CenturyLink Field this weekend, and things could get very interesting. Rookie signal caller Deshaun Watson might be the most locked-in quarterback in the league right now, having thrown for 1,070 yards and 14 touchdowns over his last four starts, while chipping in 119 yards on the ground and a rushing score over that same span. Without question, he and receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller will test the Seahawks’ defense at every level.
Of course, the same can be said of the challenge Wilson and company will pose to a Texans defense that is missing J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus. With those high-quality pass rushers sidelined, the Texans will have a more difficult time capitalizing on the ‘Hawks’ struggles along the offensive line, which could give Wilson more time to throw than he’s become accustomed to. While both teams’ stop units rank in the top-11 in yards allowed per contest, each will tasked with slowing one of the hottest quarterbacks in the NFL today. It will be no easy task.
