1. Josh McCown doesn’t play the whole game

After last game, the media questioned Todd Bowles about the quarterback situation. He told the media that he wasn’t changing quarterbacks. He even went on ESPN Radio in New York and reiterated it to Michael Kay.

No matter what he tells the media, it must be alarming that Josh McCown regresses at the quarters go by. He doesn’t keep his play elevated. The teams are making the necessary adjustments to him, but he’s not making the proper counter adjustments.

Eventually the team has to realize that, no matter what they thought after training camp, McCown just doesn’t give them the best chance to win. At some point in this game, they will make the change and insert Bryce Petty. Whether or not he guides them to victory will be determined by how much of a hole McCown has already put this team in.

The insertion of Petty into the lineup will spark the team. It will help the running game, and open things up in the passing game. The fans will see the rapport from him and Anderson that they saw in the preseason, and this team will get a jolt. They might not win, but it will provide enough of a spark to show the coaches, that moving forward, McCown belongs on the bench, with the exception of injury.
