Despite some improvements on the field this season by the Chicago Bears, head coach John Fox should be let go. Here are some possible replacements.

The Chicago Bears are playing better than many expected. They already matched last season’s win total. Also, their defense is almost back to the elite level we are used to seeing. Despite the improvements, the offense is still in need of major adjustment. Rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky is the new face of the franchise but he needs to develop. That development is the most important item on the Bears’ agenda.

Because of that, some people (I am among them) feel that head coach John Fox shouldn’t coach beyond this season. He is an old-school coach and the game has passed him. He is content with a strong running game and a game manager as the quarterback. That won’t get you any titles in the modern NFL. You need a high-powered offense that scores points. Combine that with a stifling defense and you have a good shot at winning consistently.

Fox just isn’t the guy to get that offense going.  Yes, he’s great at developing the defense and building a strong running game, but that’s as far as he goes. He’s never developed a quarterback in his coaching career and he shouldn’t start with Trubisky.

There are plenty of coaches around the NFL who can develop Trubisky the right way. They could have a better rapport with him and get the best out of him. Here is a list of seven of them the Chicago Bears should consider.
