Fantasy Football 2017: Start or sit for Week 9
By Dan Thomas
Tight Ends
Start
Vernon Davis, Washington Redskins vs. Seattle Seahawks – Jordan Reed is not expected to play due to injury so Davis should see a ton of playing time. The 33-year old is still a matchup problem and he should see a decent amount of targets with the Redskins wide receivers struggling this season.
Jared Cook, Oakland Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins – In Weeks 1-6, Cook failed to finish any game with more than 56 receiving yards. Yet, in each of the last two weeks he has finished with 57+ receiving yards. His stock is trending in the right direction and he should be a top-seven tight end this week against a very burnable Dolphins defense.
Sit
Martellus Bennett, Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions – Just like Marshawn Lynch, Bennett’s name is bigger than his game and there’s no reason to start him. He wasn’t even putting up good stats when Aaron Rodgers was playing quarterback so why should we expect him to play any better with Brett Hundley?
Ed Dickson, Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons – Back in Week 5, Dickson broke out for 175 receiving yards. Since then, he has gone three straight games under 40 receiving yards. He had one good game. Now it’s time to let it go and find a better option.
