The Atlanta Falcons head to Carolina to face the Panthers in Week 9. Take a look at three bold predictions for this NFC South battle.

What a huge win it was for the Atlanta Falcons last weekend against the New York Jets. It definitely didn’t go as well all expected, but a victory in a major downpour might have been the Dirty Birds’ most-impressive win of the entire season. Down in the second half with an offense struggling to score, the Falcons found a way to fight back and win in the end — ultimately saving their 2017 Playoff hopes.

That said, Atlanta now sets their sights towards a crucial match-up in Week 9 against their NFC South rivals, the Carolina Panthers who are coming off a 17-3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Even though it may seem as though the Panthers have been the better team over the last three years or so, Atlanta has owned them in their last three contests, outscoring Carolina 101-62. Needless to say, the Falcons will be looking to continue more of the same on Sunday afternoon.

Regardless, whoever wins this match-up in Week 9 will have a huge advantage over the other in the NFC South standings. Whether it’s a couple game lead for Carolina or a critical tiebreaker for Atlanta, each time has a ton to play for this weekend.
