The New York Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football in their Week 9 matchup.

It was the third division game in four weeks, and the penultimate of the season, for the New York Jets. They had to come out victorious to ease the slide they’ve been on, and did they ever! After three disappointing games, two of which they blew fourth quarter leads, this team looked like a different team.

They showed a lot of confidence and poise. The Jets came out from the opening whistle and dominated the game. From the first quarter on, this team showed they wanted this game more than the Bills, and they were tired of all the talk about the recent failures of the team.

Something else happened. All the talk about a lack of a running game led to a change in offensive philosophy. They ran the ball more, and they were successful. Matt Forte seemed to turn back the clock and look like a younger version of himself from his Chicago Bears days.

The Jets shut up the critics for one week at least. This team is showing what the future can hold if all the pieces are on point and playing together.

Let’s look at what we can take away from this game.
