1. Cured the second half bugaboo

Before and during the early part of the game Thursday (when the Jets had a big lead), the talk was about the fourth quarter scoring differential, which got worse in this game. Going into the game, the Jets were outscored by 24 points in the fourth quarter this season.

You can say whatever you what you will about the fourth quarter, which many call the “money quarter”. Football is a fourth quarter game, and even though the Jets fourth quarter differential was glaring, their third quarter scoring was also a huge problem.

They have come out of the halftime break flat in two of the previous three games. Against the Patriots and Falcons, on four third-quarter drives, the Jets didn’t manage to score a point. In the game against the Patriots they had a 6:41 drive that ended in an interception.

They turned their third quarter woes around in this game. The Jets came out of the locker room as hot as they were in the first half scoring two touchdowns, and they left little doubt as to how the game would end in the fourth quarter. Even though they were outscored 14-10 in the fourth quarter, it was essentially meaningless because of how they came out of the locker room after halftime.
