New York Jets: Report Card vs. Buffalo Bills in Week 9
Special Teams
New York’s kickoff and punt coverage units were fine and Chandler Catanzaro connected on both of his field goal attempts, including one from 45 yards away. Punter Lac Edwards had an off night, averaging just 38 yards on five boots, including two inside the 20.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins fumbled Buffalo’s onside kick late in the game and should be replaced with a wide receiver, like ArDarius Stewart, in those situations moving forward. You need a player with a little more quickness to the ball there. All in all, an average ST performance.

Coaching
This was Todd Bowles’ best coaching accomplishment of his three-year Jets career. On a very short week, he had a great game plan in place — shut down McCoy and keep Taylor in the pocket — and his team pulled it off brilliantly.
You have to give Bowles credit. Despite all the gloom and doom at the start of the season, the Jets have been in every game and have played exceptionally hard. They could easily be 7-2 if they had learned how to finish games earlier this year. This game was the exception. They finished off the Bills early despite allowing two late scores when the outcome was already known. They need to keep it going. Their effort has been supreme all season. Now positive results have to follow. This contest was an excellent head start. The Jets are a team to be reckoned with moving forward.
