The Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in Week 9 action in a game that is sure to feature two dominant defenses. The Broncos come into this game slumping a bit, having lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 29-19 in their last contest. Trevor Siemian had a difficult time reading the defense in this one. He went 19-of-36 for 198 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.

C.J. Anderson was also stifled by the defense of the Chiefs, carrying the rock only 15 times for 78 yards. Former Utah product Devontae Book scored the game’s only rushing touchdown in addition to his six rushes for 40 yards. Demaryius Thomas led the Broncos in receiving on the day, catching five passes for 66 yards. A.J. Derby was the recipient of the game’s only receiving touchdown, catching two passes for 21 yards in addition to the score.

In the meantime, the Eagles are flying high. The good mojo continued for Philadelphia in their last game as they downed the San Francisco 49ers 33-10. Quarterback Carson Wentz went 18-of-32 on the day, passing for 211 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Corey Clement got things done on the ground for the Eagles, rushing the ball 10 times for 59 yards. The ever-steady LeGarrette Blount got the Eagles only rushing touchdown of the game in addition to his 16 carries for 48 yards.

If there was one facet of the game where Philadelphia really made their mark, it was through the air. Alshon Jeffery caught two passes for 62 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Zach Ertz continued to write his storybook season, catching four passes for 34 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos come into Sunday’s game at 3-4, which puts them second in the AFC West, while the Eagles at 7-1 are first in the NFC East.
