The Atlanta Falcons lost a crucial NFC South match-up to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Here are three disappointing takeaways from the game.

I feel your pain Atlanta Falcons fans, this will be another week of avoiding any kind of NFL highlight show at all costs. Yet again, the Dirty Birds started off fast, only to see their offense stall, which gave the Carolina Panthers an opportunity to come back and pull off the upset victory on Sunday afternoon.

What was once a game that we all thought Atlanta would dominate, turned into the Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey show, as these two ran all over the Falcons in Week 9.

The result of a Carolina win, means that the Panthers (6-3)  have a crucial 1.5 game lead on the Falcons (4-4) in the NFC South race heading into the tenth weekend of the year. If the Dirty Birds want any chance of winning the division in back-to-back seasons, they must get right extremely fast.

With their next two games against the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks, Falcons fans must begin preparing themselves for what’s to come over the next few weeks. If Atlanta can somehow win these next two, then the playoffs are still in sight, but if they continue to struggle, then mock drafts will be the most-exciting thing to read about the Birds in January.

That said, take a look a three disappointing takeaways for the Falcons in their game against the Panthers on Sunday.
