The Detroit Lions face the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Nov. 6 in Week 9 of the 2017 season on Monday Night Football. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Remember the good old days when the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions facing off had a big-game feel to it? Well, those times have since gone, especially in relation to the 2017 NFL season. With Aaron Rodgers out, Brett Hundley in, and the Pride of the Motor City ailing, this isn’t as great of a Monday Night Football matchup as we’d hoped.

Having said that, there is still an abundance of talent taking the field for the Lions. Matthew Stafford is incredible and, though his supporting cast is hit-or-miss, he’s good enough to guide the team to victory himself. Early in the season, the Detroit defense really came up big as the likes of Darius Slay and rookie Jarrad Davis stepped up. The decline has been evident in recent weeks, but there’s promise from those early-week showings.

Meanwhile, the Packers without Rodgers look simply lost. Hundley has talent, but has no experience and it shows. Despite rookie running back Aaron Jones really breaking out in recent weeks, the offense has sputtered without the leader.

Perhaps the bigger issue for Green Bay entering this matchup is simply that their defense hasn’t been great either. They haven’t had much of a pass-rush, the secondary has been week, and the run D has been inconsistent. When you put that all together, it makes for a tough task for the Packers as they welcome the Lions to Lambeau Field.

This matchup surely would’ve been more enticing just a few weeks ago. However, things definitely seem more favorable now for the Lions than the Packers. Even still, we’ll see if Lambeau means that things will change on Monday night.
