Jacksonville Jaguars: Jalen Ramsey will play in Week 10, solidify defense
By Larry Brake
Jalen Ramsey will play Sunday as the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Los Angeles Chargers after his involvement in an altercation with A.J. Green in Week 9.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will have Jalen Ramsey on the field in week 10. Ramsey will not be suspended after being ejected from their Week 9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals for an altercation with A.J. Green. Ramsey will likely be fined due to his actions prior to fighting with Green.
Just before halftime, Green and Ramsey traded shoves, which quickly escalated into a fight. Green took exception to Ramsey’s return shove which caused him to fall down to the ground. Both players were visibly chirping at each other before the altercation.
John Reid of Jacksonville.com described the incident:
"Just before the end of the first half, Green came to blows after Ramsey nonchalantly shoved him to ground before walking away. Moments later in retaliation, Green came up from behind Ramsey and applied a choke hold before tossing him to the ground and throwing a punch toward his helmet.Green then grabbed Ramsey around his neck again and slung him to the ground in front of two referees before linebacker Myles Jack forcefully collided into Green. Players from both teams then joined the fray, trying to separate the two."
Many fans were outraged that Ramsey was ejected along with Green. The boos from the stands drowned out the explanation from the referee. The North end zone fans (where my seats are located) did believe Ramsey’s actions did not warrant an ejection.
Ryan O’Halloran of Jacksonville.com asked why Ramsey was ejected from the game:
"“No. 20 of Jacksonville [Ramsey] was ejected for a flagrant personal foul, which started the altercation which resulted in a punch from No. 18 of Cincinnati [Green]. They were both disqualified… You don’t have to throw a punch in order to be disqualified.”"
On Monday, the NFL announced that neither player will be suspended but could be fined $30,387 for their actions according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. A hefty price to pay for fighting.

The Jaguars need Ramsey on the field, not on the sidelines. His talent is hard to replace, especially with a possible playoff spot becoming real.
