Minnesota Vikings (6-2) at Washington Redskins (4-4)

This is a pivotal point in the season for the Minnesota Vikings. Currently riding a four-game winning streak, they’re coming off a bye week. It just so happens that’s when their 2016 meltdown began after getting off to a 5-0 start.

Can they do enough to subdue a Washington Redskins team that continues to be a thorn in the side of opponents? They’ve already taken down a couple of quality teams this season, although all of them happen to be on the West Coast. Luckily for the Vikings, the Redskins have yet to make victims of any teams that don’t call California or Washington home.

I think the Minnesota defense has just enough in them to secure the win. Slowing Kirk Cousins won’t be easy, and Chris Thompson can be quite the pain in the derriere. Thankfully, the Vikings have their sneaky-good offense that hasn’t had as much trouble putting points on the board as in seasons passed.

It’s going to be a war between these two clubs, especially with the Redskins looking to claw their way back into the playoff picture. Unfortunately for Washington, it won’t be enough as Minnesota uses the added rest from the bye week to squander any hopes of an upset in D.C.

Prediction: Vikings win 31-24
