The Green Bay Packers season continues to get derailed. This time it was offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga who went down with a season ending injury.

The Green Bay Packers headed into Week 6 with a 4-1 record. They not only lost that game, but also Aaron Rodgers for possibly the entire season. Since then, they’ve dropped two more and now sit at 4-4. If that’s not bad enough, the injuries continue to pile in. Martellus Bennett struggled with injuries and has since been cut from the team.

The biggest blow since Rodgers is losing offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga, though. The tackle is one of the most experienced and talented lineman the Packers have. He’s out for the year due to a torn ACL however. Losing an offensive lineman is never good. Losing an offensive lineman while trying to teach a young and inexperienced quarterback on the run is even worse.

Riding a three-game losing streak, the Packers suddenly find themselves in third place in the NFC North. Without Rodgers, their prospects for the season look bleak. The saving grace was that Brett Hundley had the potential to keep them afloat.

Hundley would need all the help he could get for that to happen, though. With Bulaga out, his protection gets a lot worse. It’s hard to see the Packers overcoming so many injuries, especially ones as crucial as they’ve suffered.

Of course, no team is actually going to give up — and you wouldn’t expect them too. While the mountain to climb is definitely a steep one, the Packers still have some major players. If Hundley is going to lead them to victories, an injured and patched together offensive line will need to find a way to block for him.

It’s tough to overcome the loss of a superstar quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. Having a makeshift offensive line for the backup doesn’t make anything easier. With the Packers season crumbling, Bryan Bulaga’s injury could be the piece that makes this a lost season.
