1. McCown goes for 300+ yards and zero INTs in Jets win

You saw the teaser for this slide, then the slide header. When you read the header of the slide you were probably thinking, “Duh, that’s a no-brainer. Why tease me?” Well, it’s not as much of a no-brainer as one would think.

First, in McCown’s 69 career starts, he’s only thrown for 300+ yards 15 times. So, that’s rare to begin with. Second, he’s only thrown for 300+ yards and zero interceptions six times. So, that makes it even more rare. To top it off, McCown has thrown for a total of 13 touchdowns in those contests. Now, here comes the kicker.

You’d think if a quarterback throws for 300+ yards, zero interceptions, and multiple touchdowns in five of six contests would be above .500 in those six contests. Well, McCown is only 3-3 when he throws for 300+ yards and zero interceptions.

While it’s a small sample size of the occurrence, only three of McCown’s 26 career wins have had him throw for 300 or more yards and zero interceptions. Don’t worry the Jets will establish the run early and run to close the game, but McCown will get to have some fun too.
