4. New York Jets

Of all the surprise contenders in the NFL this season, the New York Jets are right up there near the top of the list since most analysts expected them to win three or four games at most after parting ways with numerous veterans in the offseason. Not to mention, Josh McCown has been performing better than expected on offense, which nobody could have predicted since his career was arguably a bust for the most part.

A few weeks ago, New York was in much better shape to make a run at the postseason before going on a three-game losing streak, and even though the chances of that still happening seem like a long shot, crazier things have happened in sports. And even though the Jets are currently the favorites against the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers, let’s not forget this will be a revenge game for one individual, Ryan Fitzpatrick.

It seems like it was just yesterday that Fitzpatrick was battling for a hefty long-term deal from the Jets before ending up robbing the team of $12 million last season when looking at all of the struggles he dealt with. But even if Fitzpatrick was to blame for what took place last season, that doesn’t mean the veteran quarterback still won’t be looking for revenge against his former team as a member of the Buccaneers.
